NEWARK, Ohio — at 56, Richard R.Finch a music producer and co-founder of KC and the Sunshine Band was arrested last Tuesday after a boy told authorities he had sexual relations with him on Finch's Newark home. The boy revealed it last week.
Being interviewed at the sheriff's office, Finch admitted he'd had sex with the boy and others ,age ranging from 13 to 17, police said.
Finch was being held at the sheriff's office on $250,000 bond.
Even with the investigation going on a message posted on the Web site of Richard Finch Productions Inc. said the allegations against the producer and song arranger were baseless.
"We will let due process happen through the legal system," it said, "and through that, we are sure Mr. Finch will be vindicated from these unfounded allegations."
There is no date settled yet Finch's arraignment, Sgt. Kevin Biller said, who chose not to disclose the evidence that led to Finch's arrest or the possible charges against him.
